DIGI4ECO, Digital Twin-sustained 4D Ecological Monitoring of Restoration in Fishery Depleted Areas, is a pioneering initiative aimed at unlocking new discoveries crucial for addressing climate change and regulating human activities. The project recognizes the critical importance of these ecosystems for both environmental conservation and socio-ecological activities, and we are committed to harnessing digital innovation to address these challenges. DIGI4ECO’s methodology focuses on utilizing sleeping data, developing tools to process data from various sources, promoting standardization, and harmonizing data by unifying libraries and resources. The project aims to conduct sea-basin scale monitoring tests, provide guidelines for stakeholders, and make tools open-source for continuous improvement.

The FSTP scheme prioritises datasets that enhance spatial and temporal coverage of biodiversity observations, including imagery and video data, species occurrence records, environmental time series, and selected socio-economic information. Special emphasis is placed on datasets that strengthen AI-based image analysis, ecological indicator computation, and long-term modelling, thereby improving the accuracy, robustness, and predictive capacity of the DIGI4ECO DTO.

Third parties receiving financial support will be:
• data holders possessing not digitalized records, providing the data into DTO-compatible formats (based on observations)
• international organizations (with non-digitalized logbooks and registries of data)
• local/regional organizations (with sleeping local biological, oceanographic and meteorological entries)
• fishery associations (with old, not digitalized, sleeping annotation/catch/landing information)
• Academic Institutions and NGOs (with old archived survey biological and environmental data)
• Governmental or Local Authorities (with historical environmental monitoring programmes).

Typologie de consortium
The maximum amount of financial support will be up to €60,000, being the final total augment subjected to negotiations based on the data quantity and quality. The financial support will be provided in the form of lump sum, with maximum ceilings to be defined per scheme and per grant category. The financial support to be granted as a lump sum is defined up-front.
After the evaluation of the call for FSTP, a lump sum share is fixed for each call and each beneficiary. This amount is paid when the activities defined in the call are completed. Thus, they will not be calculated on the basis of the costs actually incurred. The money will be paid only for the following activities related to data:
• digitalization of sleeping/non accessible information
• standardization, quality control
• processing according to pipelines.
