Européen
euROBIN 1st Open Call for Collaborative Projects
The proposed solutions are to encourage researchers and companies to drive beta tests and demonstrations of technologies from the EuroCore repository (Technology Validation). These projects must focus on validating and/or enhancing existing solutions, advancing the real-world applicability of robotic skills and capabilities across various domains (industrial, personal, and outdoors), in line with the main goals of the euROBIN project.
List of challenges:
1 Data for Socially Aware Robot Navigation and Benchmarking
2 Synthetic Data Generation and algorithm development for WEEE Refurbishment
3 Network Protocol for Energy aware software and hardware components
4 Development and Testing of Dexterous Grippers for Laptop Repair
5 Robotic fingertip with capacitive sensing for in-hand metallic object counting and pose estimation
6 Safety Framework for Learning-Based Controllers in Human-Robot Interaction
7 Map Server for Localization of Aerial Robots in Indoor/Outdoor Delivery Scenarios
8 Electronic Task Board Development and Fabrication Partner
9 Cross Embodiment Robot Manipulation Skill Library
10 Maps of Dynamics-aware Task Planning
11 Dishwasher final rack assembly and styrofoam padding installation
12 Outdoor Demonstration of Quasi-static 6D Manipulation of a Cable-Suspended Load using Three Non-stopping Fixed-Wing Convertible Aerial Vehicles
13 Object properties estimation via parallel simulations
14 Automatic Generation of Flight Plans from Text Descriptions and Environment Map for Aerial Parcel Delivery
The activity that qualifies for financial support under the 1st Open Call for the Collaborative Projects Programme is to validate and demonstrate technologies from the EuroCore repository, with the goal of driving their real-world applicability (Technology Validation). Participants are to contribute to the testing, refinement, and evaluation of these technologies, ensuring they meet significant research challenges and can be integrated into various application domains.
Among others, participants are to contribute to the design, development, and validation of:
• Perception methods for the realization of complex manipulation tasks, or for the navigation in either domestic environments or in outdoor urban scenarios.
• Software modules that extend the range of functionalities of robots to conduct daily life tasks and facilitate interaction with human users.
• Novel mechanisms that improve the dexterity and reliability of robots, or novel robot platforms whose features and capabilities may be of particular interest in some application domains.
• Simulation tools combined with advanced Artificial Intelligence techniques that have the potential to speed up the development of general robot skills.
The Support Programme will last from 3 to 12 months, depending on the number of people assigned to the project and the overall costs set per month. As a beneficiary, you will receive a fixed lump sum of up to €60 000.
We are looking for a single (individual) legal entity (not a consortium) that is:
1. a Company of any size registered before the 20th of November 2024;
2. a Research Organisation;
3. an Academia Research Institution registered before the 20th of November 2024.
Proposals should be submitted exclusively by the aforementioned applicants who will delegate a group of researchers/PhD students (that are endorsed by the organisation they belong to/work at) to work in a laboratory.
The entities have to be registered in:
● The Member States of the European Union and its Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT);
or
● Associated Countries to Horizon Europe.
Challenges 2, 5, 7, 13 involve the technical validation of open-source hardware or software components.
