Farmtopia Open Call
The Farmtopia Open Call aims to attract small consortia of two entities formed by an Agricultural Digital Solutions (ADSs) provider (an SME), and an end-user (small or medium farm). These new farms will co-create and test smart solutions for small and medium farms, thereby contributing to raising awareness about the benefits of incorporating ADSs in farming operations and making these digital technologies more easily accessible to small and medium farms.
The Open Call will focus on countries and crops, not already present in Farmtopia, with the expectation that they will benefit from the most recent developments and innovations in the area.
Connected agricultural machines, Earth Observation (EO), Internet of Things (IoT), sensor networks, hyperspectral sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Decision Support Systems (DSS)
A Sustainable Innovation Pilot (SIP) is an initiative undertaken to design, deploy, and test innovative Agricultural Digital Solutions (ADSs) within real-world farming environments. Using a multi-actor and bottom-up approach, SIPs bring together technological providers and farmers to foster the co-creation of cost-effective ADSs, specifically designed to address the distinctive needs and attributes of small and medium sized producers.
The primary goals of SIPs are to:
● Co-create Innovative Solutions: Collaboratively develop ADSs tailored to address specific agricultural challenges.
● Deploy and Test ADSs: Implement these solutions on actual farms across various regions and crops to evaluate their effectiveness and practicality.
● Validate Business and Governance Models: Design, adapt, and validate suitable business and governance frameworks that can support the sustained use of ADSs.
ADSs developed must have a start TRL of 6.
Sustainable Innovation Pilots (SIPs) will last 12 months and will be granted up to EUR 100K.
