NEMO Open Call #1
NEMO Open Call #1 invites EU based SMEs active in edge computing, edge and/or cloud native software development, operating systems, IoT/5G networks and IoT manufacturing entities to implement innovative core metaOS components and plugins to support new functionality and new services and validate the NEMO components, in particular by offering:
a) NEMO meta-architecture extensions
b) software components/plugins not covered by current NEMO implementation plan
c) new network or service/resources metering/automated control components or
d) porting NEMO on new, highly heterogeneous IoT devices.
Proposals must offer open access to their software components. Any developed HW/SW component within NEMO will be tested in NEMO pilots and provided as Open Source.
Proposals must have a clear European dimension, facilitate Edge cloud/IoT based innovation and contribute towards EU digitization, targeting clear economic and societal impact.

The total amount of funding that each SME will receive is up to €150,000. Selected projects are expected to start on 1st of March 2024 and run for 18 months.
The open call will have three phases:
a) DESIGN, which aims to yield a detailed design deliverable and tech-business presentation and may release 30% of funding.
b) DEVELOP, which includes development and validation of proposed software and MVP and may release up to 80% of funding.
c) VALIDATE, which includes testing and validation, as well as dissemination and exploitation activities, and may lead to releasing up 100% funding.
NEMO invites single SMEs active in edge computing, edge cloud software development, native cloud, operating systems, full stack development, IoT applications development to implement innovative core metaOS components and plugins to support new functionality and new services and validate the NEMO components.
SME applicants must be established and based in one of the EU Member States or a Horizon Associated country as defined in Horizon Rules for participation.
